Learn the sitar in person, one student at a time.
Private sitar lessons in a quiet home studio in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Beginners are welcome.
Try it: tap a string to hear the notes of a basic scale.
How lessons work
One teacher, one student
Every lesson is private. You get full attention and a pace that fits you, not a class.
In person, at the studio
Lessons take place face to face in the teacher's home studio. You can see and hear the instrument up close.
Start from zero
No experience needed. You'll learn how to sit, hold the sitar, and play your first notes and scale.
Your teacher
I have played the sitar for 45 years, and now I want to share what I have learned with anyone who is interested in learning. Whether you are picking up an instrument for the first time or have been curious about Indian classical music for a long time, I would be glad to teach you.
